FAQ

The questions most people bring to their first visit — including a few common misconceptions about chiropractic care.

Does an adjustment hurt?+
Most adjustments aren't painful. You might feel pressure, a stretch, or a release, but sharp pain isn't the goal or the norm. If something feels off during a session, Dr. Kristen adjusts her approach on the spot.
What's that popping sound?+
That's just gas bubbles releasing from the fluid in your joints as they move — the same thing that happens when you crack your knuckles. It's not bones grinding or shifting out of place.
Once you start, do you have to keep going forever?+
No. Care plans are built around your goals — some people come in for a few visits to resolve a specific issue, others choose ongoing maintenance for performance or prevention. It's always your call.
Is chiropractic care only for back pain?+
Back pain is common, but the Chiro Lab also treats neck and shoulder tension, hip and joint restrictions, sports injuries, and general mobility loss — anywhere movement is restricted or compensating.
Is chiropractic care safe?+
Yes — chiropractic is a well-researched, widely used form of care. Every visit starts with an assessment so treatment is matched to what your body can actually handle that day.
How is this different from a massage?+
Massage focuses on soft tissue. Chiropractic care addresses joint mechanics and movement restrictions — Dr. Kristen often combines both, using manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue work alongside adjustments to treat the full picture.
Do I need a referral to book?+
No referral needed. You can book directly online, and if you're not sure where to start, the Free Discovery Visit is a no-cost way to talk through what's going on first.
